Treatment 2: 90mins

(TITLE)
Duration: 90 minutes (approx)

Audience: The certificate of this film will be a 15, because it will show graphic violent scenes that are not suitable for anyone under 15.The audience will be made up of 15 to 35 year olds, so these are the people our film needs to target. Obviously because our film is a 15, it will not be suited for families with young children. There is no specific gender that this film will be aimed, but stereotypically it may appeal more to men.Similar films that our audience may choose to watch would be films like ‘The Exorcist’, ‘End of Day’ and ‘9th Gate’. These films are all based around demons and being possessed. Our target audience will more than likely want to see the film for the thrill and shock of it, because to see a scary film they have to like the genre itself.

Synopsis: First of all there is a girl laid in bed panicking because she can hear a noise but then she realises its her sister and thinks it’s ok but then realises its her that was freaking her out. This is a flashback to start the film and then there will be the title sequence. The film will then start like it’s a normal day but the weather will be bad. Strange things start to happen to Kate but she never realizes that all these strange things are because of her sister. Kate and her sister are very close because of a troubled childhood and they have always stuck together so Kate tries to confide in her sister about these things that are happening to her but Scarlett (her sister) doesn’t pay any attention. Things start to get worse for Kate and she finds herself a nervous wreck after she feels she’s being tormented and followed. Kate starts to notice a specific symbol cropping up all over the place and finds it strange and then one night to her horror she finds herself branded with the same symbol! Throughout this gripping story Dramatic Irony is used because the audience knows who is doing this to Kate but nobody in the film knows its Scarlett her very own sister and this keeps the audience gripped till the very end. USPIt gets straight into the action. It will have a lot of quick editing and handheld shots to make the action seem scarier. There will also be some quick music to add to the effect.
